Hoping to join my lab and U-M SEAS as a PhD student
The U-M SEAS PhD program is a world-class research-oriented PhD program that is fully funded for all students, and as such, can only accept a limited number of students each year. Additionally, I am personally limited in the number of PhD students I can advise. Thus, I will be considering candidates who would be most likely to be successful in my lab: those with strong research backgrounds and research approaches and interests that closely match my own.
If you are interested, please first closely review my research interests, approach as a social psychologist, and CV and spend at least a couple hours skimming or reading a couple of my recent first author papers to further learn about my approach and help determine whether my lab would be a good fit for you. Then, send me a detailed email message explaining your research interests and why you are interested in working with me specifically. Include your previous research background, specific skills (e.g., statistics, R, qualitative coding) and a copy of your CV.

I am recruiting PhD students for the 2025-2026 application cycle and will be able to write letters of support for a very limited number of PhD applicants for the 2025-2026 application cycle who most closely match my research interests and have the strongest research backgrounds. Applicants who have a letter of support written for them will have a greater chance of admittance to U-M SEAS, however, a SEAS admission committee makes all final decisions.
